Honouring the 2016 Vintage at Domaine Clarence Dillon

Domaine Clarence Dillon is releasing a new prestige case featuring wines from its three estates for the 2016 vintage: Château Haut-Brion, Château La Mission Haut-Brion, and Château Quintus

This assorted case, produced in limited quantities, allows you to rediscover one of Bordeaux’s finest vintages in recent years. Under the sliding lid marked with the family company logo, six bottles of first and second wines from the Left and Right Banks are progressively revealed. Opening the drawer reveals three magnums of the first wines from the three estates. This stunning case is also ideal as an elegant interior decoration

The 2016 Vintage

After a cool, rainy winter and spring, flowering on both banks was almost miraculously uniform. The summer drought ended with a rainy spell in mid-September, which was very beneficial for perfecting the ripening process. In October, no rain disrupted our harvest. The cool nights, combined with the warm days, enabled us to produce wines that were both structured as well as fresh and fruity. Is it a paradox or the miracle of nature? The outstanding 2016 vintage reaffirms, once again, the power of great terroirs

Château Quintus recently distinguished itself with the 2016 vintage, in a blind tasting alongside Saint-Emilion’s five most prestigious crus. Out of 48 wines ranging from the 2011 to 2018 vintages, tasted blind by 28 wine experts and critics, Quintus 2016 was ranked 4th.
